Make it Own it Love it, my debut book!
So a couple of very useful things that being on The Sewing Bee taught me were:
- How to work to deadlines
- How to keep a secret
Well today I’m able to tell you some VERY exciting news, and I’m so relieved to finally be able to share the scoop with you, I have been secretly working away to a publishing deadline for my debut book, Make it Own it Love it. Thats right I can now officially add “author” to my profile.
Stitcher, Blogger Now Author!
What a journey it’s been too, we have learnt about engaging text, photography, layout, illustration and artwork, modelling, lighting, the list goes on.
It all began with a book pitch aimed at the lost generation of stitchers, focusing on teaching the basics to people who were never taught to sew. With the fantastic support of Jacqui Small and her team this concept was moulded into a wonderfully fun sewing book, where I get to share my tips on basic sewing and methods, to upcycling and customisation of clothing already in your wardrobe that perhaps just need a bit of love, through to making something from scratch using just your body measurements.
I’m keen to share my passion for sewing with a series of makes and projects tailored for every stitcher regardless of skill, ranging across all the seasons. In fact I look at my book as being an essential for anyone who wears clothes!
These pictures are an exclusive sneak peak for you, the actual hardback will be hitting the bookstore shelves in early Autumn.
I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with a fantastically encouraging publisher in Jacqui Small, one of the countries finest photographers and two beautifully skilled illustrators. As a team, we would like to introduce you to Make it Own it Love it, which is now available to pre-order here on Amazon.
